PRIVATE MONKEY ISLAND & PANAMA CANAL VISITOR CENTER - from RIU Playa Blanca
ITINERARY
The Private Monkey Island & Panama Canal Visitor Center Tour from Riu Playa Blanca offers a fantastic opportunity to experience the natural beauty and history of Panama. The day begins with a pickup at 8:30 AM, after which you'll travel to Gatun Lake, part of the Panama Canal Watershed. There, you will board a motorboat to visit Monkey Island, home to various species of monkeys, such as capuchin and howler monkeys. However, it is important to note that seeing wildlife is not guaranteed, as the animals roam freely in their natural environment.
Lunch can be enjoyed at the Food Court in the former Clayton Military Base, a historic location that once served as a U.S. military installation, now transformed into a lively area with local restaurants and some ONGs.
In addition to the wildlife experience, the tour includes a visit to the Panama Canal Visitor Center, where you can explore exhibits about the history and operation of the Panama Canal, as well as watch large ships pass through the locks. After this enriching experience, the tour concludes with a return trip to the resort, arriving around 3:45 PM
